Helpful Hive Hacks

Who doesn't love a good life hack? The internet is full of them-some good and some well. . .a little questionable. Here are 3 helpful hacks that we recently came across and thought they were worth trying out. Enjoy!

Life Hack #1 - Lemon Storage

I often buy a big bag of lemons intending to squeeze them in my water, but then often forget about them until they are too old to use (is it me or is there always one really moldy one in the bunch?!) Did you know that if you take them out of the bag when you get home and store them in water in the fridge they can last for up to 3 months? Put them in a pretty glass container instead of buried in the produce drawer and you may actually remember to use them!

Life Hack #2: Broom/Dust Pan Cleaner

Does cleaning spider webs, hair and debris off your broom gross you out like it does me? Here is a great way to avoid touching the dirty bristles when you are finished sweeping. All you need to do is hot glue a comb across the back of the dust pan. I have to admit I was skeptical that this would hold and also thought we would need a sturdier comb, but low and behold, it actually worked! Check out the demo video below:

Life Hack #3: Hair Static Remover

Our final hack of the month is very useful when the weather turns cold and dry. I am constantly battling the static in my clothing and especially my hair. The solution to smooth out the static in your hair is to take a hairbrush and press a dryer sheet onto the bristles. (Recommend using a flat brush versus a round brush as shown.) Then, you simply run it through your hair, voilá- no more static!
