Office Chair Workout

office chair workout

Last blog post, we discussed easy ways to workout on vacation. Welp, summer is over and some of you might be getting back into the swing of things: work, volunteering, more time at your computer, etc.

Consequently, you'll likely be sitting more. Sitting as a whole isn't bad. But sitting for a few hours at a time or more, well I'm not gonna say it's bad, but it's also not good. As stated in my first blog post, humans are not supposed to stay in one position for prolonged periods.

So, let's break up the monotony with a quick office chair workout. One video for arms and the other for legs. For arms, an exercise band is all you need. Nothing is needed for legs, however, feel free to add weights as tolerated.

I'd recommend alternating arm and leg days, performing 3 rounds of all exercises in a quick 15 minute session. That doesn't mean you can rush through with poor form though! Slow and controlled = better results.

Dealing with pain or injury? Need help returning to activities you love? You do NOT need a physician’s prescription to see a physical therapist in the state of Kansas and yes, insurance still applies (check if your state has a similar practice law - in some states you still need a physician's prescription to see a PT). Marquette Physical Therapy has two locations - Leawood & De Soto, KS. We treat one-on-one with a focus on manual therapies with specialties in Graston Technique™, Dry Needling, Pelvic Floor, Vestibular/Concussion, golf, and diagnostic ultrasound.
