Isn’t that what holiday shopping is all about.

Before you know it, you’ve got a lot of prize packages under the tree — for yourself!

Hey, I’m all in favor, I say, just have a plan.

It’s easy to get twirled around in the swirl of the holiday shopping and social season.

Lots of invites, kids home from college, what should you get the neighbors, the dog? In the midst of it, all those fun invitations. I am here to help - your seasonal shopping made easy.

My recipe for a fail-proof holiday outfit is:

- Be comfortable

- Pick something offbeat — not necessarily ‘holiday.’ Maybe a funky quilted jacket with a long skirt and a tank top with boots.

- Make your statement with one piece like spangly earrings or a fur-collared sweater.

- When you buy something, think about how it can go the distance for you in your daily wardrobe after the holiday. A sparkly skirt can be repurposed for a day look with a jean jacket and sneakers.

- Beware of those after Christmas sales. Usually it’s picked over stuff that no one wanted.
